About Face Theatre announced today the appointment of Alana Parvey Zalas as its new Managing Director. Zalas succeeds Dean Carpenter, who stepped down in 2016.

Artistic Director Andrew Volkoff said “We are thrilled to welcome Alana to the About Face team. Her precision and strong finance skills will be a huge asset to the organization. Adding Alana expands our staff to largest it’s been in recent years and renders us poised for growth like never before.”

Zalas served as business manager for Route 66 Theatre Company for four years and remains an artistic associate. She is also the bookkeeper for Barrel of Monkeys. She is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, Northwestern University and the Second City Training Center.
