New Blank Theatre Company Announces Season

Blank Theatre Company, a new non-equity storefront theatre company, has announced their inaugural two-production season. This fall, the company will produce the 1890s-set teen rebellion rock musical SPRING AWAKENING, directed by Co-Artistic Director Danny Kapinos with choreography by Britta Lynn Schlitt. SPRING AWAKENING will play Jackelope’s Frontier venue September 6 – 30.

In the spring of 2019, Blank Theatre will produce David Harrower’s BLACKBIRD, revolving around a young woman who tracks down the middle-aged man who sexually assaulted her when she was twelve and confronts him. It played Broadway in 2016 with Michelle Williams and Jeff Daniels. Dates and venue are to be announced.

Co-Artistic Director Kapinos is a director, music director, accompanist, and recent graduate of Northwestern University. His counterpart, Dustin Rothbart, is an actor and graduate of Illinois State University.
