Remy Bumppo Leaves Greenhouse for Theater Wit

Remy Bumppo Theatre Company has announced it will leave the Greenhouse Theater Center to perform its 2018-2019 season at Theater Wit as a new resident company.

Producing Artistic Director Nick Sandys said “this move will afford us the opportunity to strengthen not only the quality of our productions but also our patrons’ experience in the theatre.” The press release went on to tout the spaces and amenities that Theater Wit’s complex has to offer.

Jeremey Wechsler of Theater Wit said “I’m thrilled to welcome Remy Bumppo as a resident company. I’ve admired their work since I saw their first production, ‘Night and Day,’ some 20 years ago. Remy Bumppo’s mix of contemporary artists with vibrant and poetic classics is a beautiful fit into the building’s programming.” Theater Wit’s resident companies now include Remy Bumppo, Shattered Globe, and About Face, along with Theater Wit’s own productions and all the visiting companies that perform there.

Remy Bumppo has taken advantage of the nearly two hundred seats in the Greenhouse’s 2nd-floor mainstage over the years, and working their subscribers into the sub-100 seat spaces at Theater Wit will be a challenge for the company.

The Greenhouse now lists MPAACT and The Organic Theater as its current residents.
