Silk Road Rising has announced the cast and creative team for the U.S. premiere of WILD BOAR written by Candace Chong, translated by Joanna C. Lee and Ken Smith, and adapted by David Henry Hwang,

Directed by Helen Young, the production features Christine Bunuan as Tricia, F. Karmann Bajuyo as Ruan, Fin Coe as Yam, Emily Marso as Karrie, and Scott Shimizu as Johnny.

The creative team includes Joshua Baggett (Stage Manager), Yeaji Kim (Set/Projections Designer), Tony Churchill (Projections Designer), Melissa Ng (Costume Designer), Lindsey Lyddan (Lighting Designer), Thomas Dixon (Sound Design and Original Music), Katy Vest (Props Master), Jason Pikscher (Tech Director), Carol Ann Tan (Dramaturg), Brent Ervin-Eickhoff (Assistant Director), and Bailey Howard (Assistant Stage Manager).

In WILD BOAR, when a controversial professor goes missing, an editor and his student band together to publicize the truth. Old flames spark and friendships are tested

“We make choices to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. Some of those choices touch on self-censorship or the censorship of others,” comments Young. “Wild Boar’s challenge is this: we must not forget to examine and reflect on those choices. We may be giving up a deeply held long-term gain for a short-term smaller good. And in the case of an ideal, once it’s given up, it takes a fight to get it back.”

WILD BOAR runs November 9th – December 17th. For more information visit wildboarplay.org.
