From the press release: “A matinee featuring a delightful trio of one-act gems. Only You Can Think That visits a philosophical café where the quirky proprietor is intrigued by a frustrated consultant who turns people’s small problems into big ones to put their lives into perspective. That is That, a play within a play, takes comedy to hyperbolic proportions as the characters negotiate questions of status, power, and control, on two levels of reality at once. Fragments from the Permanent Collection follows a lonely astronomer who approaches a manuscript typist on the majestic central staircase of the Art Institute of Chicago as the arc of a relationship plays out in miniature in a series of intertwining scenes.”

Directed by Artistic Director Mike Brayndick, BRICK WALL features Pete Blatchford, Natalie Carlascio, Hannah Green, Jaclyn Jensen, Danny Glenn, Karla Rennhofer, and Austin Cornett.

From the press release: “BRICK WALL paints the story of two brothers married to two sisters all living in the same downtown apartment building in contemporary Chicago. When mid-level manager, Jason Zachman, realizes he doesn’t have the heart to lay off his employees, he decides to move into a stairwell and spend all his time drawing pictures he sees in the bricks. Has he lost his mind or is he a Zen master of ethical dreaming in a time when there is great stress on the larger American dream? Take a journey down the stairwell with Jason, his devoted wife Cora, his frustrated stockbroker brother Murray, and Murray’s wife Sara, a government spokeswoman for economic optimism. Can true love survive in a stairwell?”

THIS THAT AND THE OTHER THING! runs Saturday afternoons March 31st – April 28th. BRICK WALL runs March 29th – April 28th. Both productions perform at the Berger Park Coach House Theatre, 6205 N. Sheridan Rd, Chicago. For more information visit onthespottheatrecompany.com.
