Remy Bumppo Theatre Company has announced the three plays that will make up its 2019/20 season.

The plays in the upcoming season will range from a world premiere adaptation of a literary classic, to a new production of a modern classic about female empowerment, all the way to a Chicago premiere of a new play about the relationship between two iconic Americans.

“It feels more than fitting as we move into 2020 for Remy Bumppo to be telling these complex stories about strong, independent women leading the charge for change,” comments Producing Artistic Director Nick Sandys. “I am proud that we are producing a season that feels right on mission and yet also feels revolutionary, three important stories leaping out of the past in fresh interpretations that feel astonishingly current.”

The season kicks off with Remy Bumppo’s first commissioned work, HOWARDS END by Douglas Post, from the novel by E.M. Forster. The production is directed by Sandys and features core ensemble member Eliza Stoughton as Margaret Schlegel.

In the winter of 2020, TOP GIRLS returns to the Remy Bumppo stage in a new revival directed by guest artist Keira Fromm and featuring core ensemble members Annabel Armour and Linda Gillum.

The season concludes with THE AGITATORS by Mat Smart and featuring core ensemble member Eliza Stoughton and guest artist James Vincent Meredith.
