The Auditorium Theatre is offering free tickets to upcoming events for government workers affected by the partial government shutdown. Furloughed federal employees may receive up to four tickets to “Too Hot To Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah” on January 19 or 20 and “National Geographic Live – Pink Boots and a Machete” on January 24.

“Too Hot To Handel” features 100 Chicago musicians and singers in a blues, jazz, gospel, and rock twist on Handel’s classic oratorio. “Pink Boots and a Machete” features Mireya Mayor, a former NFL cheerleader and daughter of Cuban immigrants who followed her dreams to become a respected primatologist. The explorer is the co-discoverer of the world’s smallest primate in Madagascar and an Emmy Award-nominated wildlife correspondent for the National Geographic Channel.

Tickets may be claimed in person at the Auditorium Theatre Box Office, located at 50 E Ida B Wells Dr, with a valid federal ID.
