The new musical based on the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs has its cast.

MIRACLE features a book by Jason Brett and music and lyrics by Michael Mahler, following a working-class Chicago Irish family fighting to keep their bar near Wrigley Field afloat as the Cubs make their meteoric rise. Damon Kiely directs the world premiere at the Royal George Theatre, which begins previews May 8.

“The Chicago Cubs have had a memorable impact on not only Chicagoans, but fans around the world,” says William Marovitz, the show’s creator and producer. Marovitz is a former Illinois State Senator who represented the Wrigleyville neighborhood. He’s also a regular Broadway, restaurant, and real estate investor. “This story is more than just baseball,” he continued. It illustrates how hope, faith, and belief can take you somewhere where you never imagined. With this musical, we celebrate the highs and lows of life directly paralleled with the Cubs winning the World Series, and how believing in a miracle can get you further than you ever could have ever dreamed.” Marovitz is partnering with 10-time Tony-winning producer Arny Granat of Jam Theatricals to bring the vision to life.

The Chicago-based cast includes Brandon Dahlquist, Gene Weygandt, Amaris Sanchez, Elise Wolf, Allison Sill, Jonathan Butler-Duplessis, Veronica Garza, and Michael Kingston.

The production will feature choreography by Dina DiCostanzo, musical direction by Kory Danielson, set design by Collette Pollard, costume design by Izumi Inaba, lighting design by Christine Binder, sound design by Ray Nardelli, projection design by Mike Tutaj, and properties design by Angela McIlvain.
