Dandelion Theatre has announced their fifth season, featuring works written by Chicago-based playwrights, and a slate of new associate artists. The company will produce the RESERVOIR staged reading series, and a full production of “Bury Me,” a new play by Brynne Frauenhoffer, directed by Ben Kaye.

“I’m very excited about the season we have lined up,” says Artistic Director Katherine Lamb. “It really celebrates our mission of creating opportunities for Chicago theatre artists. I love bringing together playwrights, directors, and actors to collaborate on telling engaging stories and every aspect of this season accomplishes that.”

The season kicks off with the first RESERVOIR play reading of “Come Here to Me” by Dianne Nora, directed by Alex Mallory, on Monday, February 25, 7:30 pm. The second reading is “Hitting on the Break” by Sharon Krome, directed by Scott Dare on Monday, April 29 at 7:30 pm. The RESERVOIR series closes with “Prodigy” by Anna Schutz, directed by Rebecca Willingham, on Monday, May 20 at 7:30 pm. All RESERVOIR readings will be held at Theater Wit, 1229 W Belmont Ave.

In July, the company will open the world premiere production of “Bury Me” by Brynne Frauenhoffer. “Bury Me” was first seen as a staged reading during the RESERVOIR series last season. The play takes place during one couple’s fateful visit home, as their family struggles with revelations—past and present—that force everyone to evaluate their beliefs in parenthood, in God, and in the plans they’ve made for their lives. It runs July 6–27 at Rivendell Theatre, 5779 N Ridge Ave.

Dandelion has also announce the expansion of the company with Bryan Breau, Casey Freund, Martha Hansen, Cynthia Hines, Amber Hugee, Nicole Tuthill, and Reilly Willson joining as associate artists.
