Broadway In Chicago and Disney Theatrical Productions have announced that the stage musical rendition of “Frozen” will play an 11-week engagement at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph) beginning October 21, 2020, running through January 3, 2021.

In New York, “Frozen” has broken four St. James Theatre house records, despite mixed reviews. The power of the source material—which has the young ones lining up for hours to meet Anna and Elsa at Disney World—keeps families coming, placing “Frozen” in the top ten grossing shows on Broadway since it opened. It’s likely to do just as well in Chicago, though the run is scheduled much shorter than the last Disney musical to hit Chicago, “Aladdin.”

“Frozen” features the songs you know and love from the original Oscar-winning film, plus an expanded score with a dozen new numbers. The creative team includes Oscar winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez and EGOT-winner Robert Lopez (music & lyrics), Oscar winner Jennifer Lee (book), Tony and Olivier Award winner Michael Grandage (director), and Tony winner Rob Ashford (choreographer).

The design team includes scenic and costume design by two-time Tony and Olivier Award winner Christopher Oram, lighting design by six-time Tony Award winner Natasha Katz, sound design by four-time Tony nominee Peter Hylenski, video design by Tony winner Finn Ross, puppet design by Michael Curry, hair design by David Brian Brown, makeup design by Anne Ford-Coates, and special effects design by Jeremy Chernick.

Two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Oremus is music supervisor and creates vocal, incidental and dance arrangements. He is joined on the music team by Tony nominee Dave Metzger (orchestrations), Chris Montan (executive music producer), David Chase (additional dance arrangements), and Brian Usifer (music director).

Tickets are available now for groups of 10 or more by calling Broadway In Chicago Group Sales at (312) 977-1710 or emailing [email protected]. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date. Frozen will be part of the next Broadway In Chicago season, on sale this spring. For more information, visit BroadwayInChicago.com.
