Jackalope has announced the cast and crew for its 12th season opener, the Midwest premiere of “P.Y.G. or The Mis-Edumacation of Dorian Belle,” written by Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm, and directed by Lili-Anne Brown.

The cast Eric Gerard (Black), Tevion Devin Lanier (Alexand), and Garrett Young (Dorian Belle).

The production team includes Lauren Nichols (scenic designer), Paul Diezel (projections), Steve Labedz (projections engineer), Stefani Azores-Gococo (costume designer), Jared Gooding (lighting designer), Emily Hartig (props designer), Aaron Stephenson (sound designer), Danielle Stack (production manager), Catherine Miller (casting director), Devonte Washington (stage manager), and Kirby Gibson (assistant stage manager)

Dorian Belle, the chart-topping Canadian popstar, is ready to spit out the bubblegum and be taken more seriously. Black and Alexand, the ‘bad boy’ rappers of Petty Young Goons, are all about that paper. Dorian’s people hire P.Y.G. to help him toughen up his image- in front of the cameras of a reality TV show. Inspired by Shaw’s Pygmalion, P.Y.G. is a look at cultural and racial appropriation in a fictionalized exchange of ideologies, vernacular, and alleged street-cred.

“P.Y.G. or The Mis-Edumacation of Dorian Belle” runs November 5 – December 21. For more information visit jackalopetheatre.org.
