Continuing their diverse array of work for their summer LookOut series, Steppenwolf recently announced the addition of a concert reading of the new musical LOVE KILLS by Obie award winner Kyle Jarrow. Featuring Steppenwolf ensemble members Jeff Perry and Ora Jones with guest artist Patrick Rooney, LOVE KILLS is a new rock musical about the famous teen spree killer Charlie Starkweather and will play in Steppenwolf’s intimate 1700 theater July 1st-3rd.

LOVE KILLS marks only a very small number of musicals Steppenwolf has produced/workshopped since their inception in 1974.

Jarrow, who’s work includes both stage and film is currently the book writer for the Broadway-bound world premiere of THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL directed by Steppenwolf ensemble member Tina Landau, opening this summer at The Oriental Theatre in Chicago.

LookOut, Steppenwolf’s multi-genre performance series, begins May 31st and runs through Aug 17th.  Presenting a wide variety of work from a diverse array of artists, emerging and established alike, LookOut will feature several Steppenwolf ensemble members in addition to numerous guest artists. www.steppenwolf.org/lookout.
