Tony Award-Winner Len Cariou Brings BROADWAY & THE BARD to Stage 773

Broadway star Len Cariou will bring “Broadway and the Bard: An Evening of Shakespeare & Song” to Stage 773 June 6-10.

Written by Cariou, Barry Kleinbort and Mark Janas, “Broadway and the Bard” had its Off-Broadway premiere in 2016. Cariou conceived the idea for the show during his Broadway debut season, when he appeared as Shakespeare’s Henry V and then, the the following spring, starred in the musical “Applause.” The show combines those two great loves–Shakespeare and musical comedy–pairing musical selections with soliloquies and sonnets.

Cariou is a member of the Theatre Hall of Fame and a three-time Tony nominee, for “Applause,” “A Little Night Music,” and for his legendary performance as “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” for which he won the leading actor trophy. In addition to his prolific career as a stage actor and director, he’s appeared in dozens of films and television series, including “Spotlight,” “Secret Window” and “Thirteen Days.” He’s currently in his 8th season as Henry Reagan in the hit TV Series “Blue Bloods”

The creative team for “Broadway and the Bard” also includes Josh Iocavelli (sets) and Matt Berman (lights and sound). The tour is produced by special arrangement with Aruba Productions, LLC and Starry Night Productions.
