Coffee & Whiskey Productions has announced the cast for the Midwest premiere of SWEEP by Georgina Escobar.
The production features company members Wesley James and Michelle Alejandra Limon with Menaka Deolekar, Adam LaSalle, Maddy Lowe, and Alejandra Vivanco.
From the press release: “SWEEP by Georgina Escobar is, at its most simple, a play inspired by sci-fi graphic novels, the Bible, humanity, and the unbridled imagination of a child. SWEEP had its world premiere at Aurora Theatre, Inc. (Lawerenceville, GA), a developmental workshop at Lincoln Center Theatre (New York, NY), and was a finalist for the 2016 National Latino Playwriting Award. A hilarious and beautiful look at the world, SWEEP pokes at human, family, genetic, and world history with a (broom?) stick. Escobar asks you to feel rather than think, to experience rather than listen, and to believe in magic. A sci-fi graphic novel of a play, SWEEP examines religion, gender roles, and the choices we make in everyday life. It’s also about a magic broom.”
SWEEP runs March 8th through the 25th. For more information visit coffeeandwhiskeyproductions.com.
