Filament Theatre has announced the cast and design team for the holiday production of THE SNOW QUEEN, adapted from Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale by Tyler J. Monroe.
Directed by Allegra Libonati, the production features Sonia Goldberg as Gerda, Kristin Hammargren as the Snow Queen, Nico Fernandez as Kai, Sarah Hecht as Grandmother, with resident artists Rejinal Simon as Grandfather and Andrew Marchetti as the Goblin.
The production team includes resident artists Noël Huntzinger (costume design) and Andrew Marchetti (puppet design), with Amy Gilman (scenic/space design), Carley Walker (lighting design), Jeffrey Levin (sound design/composer), Nicholas Schwartz (technical director), Monica M. Brown (stage manager), and Kira Gaudynski (Assistant Stage Manager).
When her best friend Kai is lured to the wicked Snow Queen’s palace, young Gerda embarks on an unexpected quest to the ends of the earth to save him.
“It is a show where you can bring family members of all ages and everyone can take away a part of the story,” says Libonati. “If they can all be swept away in this fairytale, go on a journey together, and be inspired by the strength of a little girl alone in the North Pole, that would be a wonderful thing.”
THE SNOW QUEEN runs November 10 – December 23. For more information visit filamenttheatre.org.
