“Now That’s What I Call Music” is releasing its first Broadway album, and it’s pretty much what you would expect. A compilation of some of the most overplayed Broadway tunes, plus three that aren’t even originally from a musical. Jeff Moskow, head of the franchise said in a statement: “In curating this album, we set out to find 18 songs that represent and celebrate the rich history of Broadway from the last 40 years.” I suspect that effort took all of 15 minutes – though any album with Jessie Mueller on it has to get my vote.
