Sideshow Theatre Company and Rivendell Theatre Ensemble have announced the casting for the Midwest premiere of “Something Clean.” Lauren Shouse directs Selina Fillinger’s new drama exploring a mother changed by her 19-year-old son’s sexual assault conviction.
“Selina’s profoundly resonant voice offers our audiences a new perspective on what it is to bear your children’s sins,” said Rivendell Artistic Director Tara Mallen. “Rivendell is excited to be a part of sharing this provocative new work with Chicago audiences.” The play was developed as a part of Sideshow’s “Freshness Initiative” and the two companies are working together to present it at Victory Gardens’ Richard Christiansen Theater.
Shouse’s cast will include Patrick Agada, Mary Cross and Guy Massey. The production team includes Arnel Sancianco (scenic design), Noël Huntzinger (costume design), Diane Fairchild (lighting design), Eric Backus (sound design), Jonathan Berg-Einhorn (props design), Gina M. Di Salvo (dramaturg), Jennifer Aparicio (production manager) and Casie Morell (stage manager).
“Something Clean” will play Victory Gardens’ Richard Christiansen Theater June 16 – 21. Tickets and more info at victorygardens.org, by calling (773) 871-3000 or in person at the Victory Gardens Box Office.
