Chicago Shakespeare Theater has announced the cast for the North American premiere of SIX by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, in which the six ex-wives of King Henry VIII are headlining a pop-concert spectacle. The flexible Yard theater will be transformed into a rocking concert venue, where Tom Curran’s score with vocal arrangements by Joe Beighton will be on display.
SIX debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe followed by a sold-out UK tour, and now runs open-ended on the West End where it is nominated for five Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical.
Directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage, the Chicago Shakespeare production will feature Adrianna Hicks (Aragon), Andrea Macasaet (Boleyn), Abby Mueller (Seymour), Brittney Mack (Cleves), Samantha Pauly (Howard), and Anna Uzele (Parr). Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert and Mallory Maedke have been cast as the “Alternate Queens.”
The show is backed by an all-woman band—the “Ladies in Waiting”—Julia Schade Armstrong (Keyboard/Conductor/Assistant Music Director), Kimi Hayes (Guitars), Stacy McMichael (Electric Bass), and Sarah Allen(Drums).
The production team includes Music Director Roberta Duchak, Assistant Director Megan E. Farley, Scenic Designer Emma Bailey, Costume Designer Gabriella Slade, Sound Designer Paul Gatehouse, and Lighting Designer Tim Deiling. The choreographer is Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, with Associate Choreographer Melody Sinclair and Assistant Choreographer Dionna PridGeon.
