About Face Theatre has welcomed Andrew Fortman as the company’s new Director of Individual & Major Giving and Special Events.
“We are thrilled that Andrew is joining our staff in this newly-created position, greatly expanding our development department” comments Artistic Director Andrew Volkoff. “Andrew’s passion and excitement make him a wonderful complement to Benjamin Sprunger, who will continue to serve as our Director of Institutional Giving. I look forward to Andrew and Benjamin working together to further our impact and mission.”
Andrew Fortman joins the About Face team with a varied background in theater, LGBTQ advocacy, and community engagement. Hailing from southern Ohio, he is a proud alumnus of Ohio State University and the University of Virginia, holding degrees Theatre and Acting. After spending time working throughout Ohio, New York, and Virginia, Andrew moved to Chicago’s vibrant arts scene in 2014, seeking opportunities to contribute to the creation and development of socially-responsible theater. As an artist, he has performed in multiple professional productions, contributed to educational, artistic workshops, and written and produced scripts documenting the lives of LGBTQ and Allied individuals. Most recently, he worked as the Director of Community and Cultural Programs at Center on Halsted where he curated programs and events that catered to the LGBTQ communities throughout Chicagoland, celebrating their intersectionality with race, faith, gender and other dynamic identities.
