The Chicago Green Theatre Alliance will host the 5th Annual E-Waste/Textile Drive and Costume Exchange for the Chicago theater community this weekend.

The event will take place at Steppenwolf’s Merle Reskin Garage Theatre, 1624 N. Halsted, May 31 – June 2, and early drop off begins May 30 between 12 PM – 5 PM.

The alliance is encouraging theaters to clean out their closets and bring any unused costumes, shoes and accessories, batteries, and e-waste (anything that plugs in or uses a battery except old TVs and CRT monitors). Additionally, theaters can browse donated items for future productions. Whatever is left will be recycled by the Alliance.

The Chicago Green Theatre Alliance’s 5th Annual E-Waste/Textile Drive and Costume Exchange:
Friday, May 31st (10AM-5PM)
Saturday, June 1st (10AM-5PM)
Sunday, June 2 (12-4PM)
at Steppenwolf’s Merle Reskin Garage Theatre (1624 N. Halsted).

If you are interested in volunteering for the drive contact Maggie over at TimeLine Theatre.
