The Organic Theater has announced its upcoming two-play season, taking place at the Greenhouse Theater Center.

March 23 – April 26 the company will present THE DRAGON by Evgeny Schwartz, a Soviet writer and playwright, who also scripted a number of contemporary plays based on the fairy tales of Hans Christian Anderson.

A knight comes to slay the town’s local dragon, but he butts heads with the townspeople who are stuck in a the-dragon-you-know-beats-the-dragon-you-don’t quandary. The fantastical take on power and totalitarianism is translated by Artistic Director Alexander Gelman and co-directed by Gelman and Company Member Nyssa Lowenstein.

June 1 – July 5 brings SCANDALABRA by Zelda Fitzgerald. Married to F. Scott Fitzgerald, but a writer and novelist in her own right, Zelda was a scandalous and exciting celebrity of her time.

When Andrew Messogany’s uncle dies, he is left a fortune with a catch: that he, an innocent farmer, keeps up the family’s reputation as irresponsible, reckless socialites. Directed by Company Member Anna H. Gelman.
