“Six,” the new musical wrapping up its North American Premiere at Chicago Shakespeare on Sunday, will open on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre next February.

Penned by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the UK import sold out the 12-week run in Chicago Shakespeare’s Yard theater, including a 5-week extension. Before heading to New York, it will be presented at Boston’s American Repertory Theatre (August 21–September 27, 2019), at Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre (November 2–24, 2019) in Canada, and at St. Paul’s The Ordway (November 29–December 22, 2019).

“Six” follows the wives of Henry VIII in a pop-concert spectacle celebrating women. Our Elizabeth Ellis called it the “perfect confluence of events and talent and timing,” resulting in a “cultural phenomenon.”
