Stage 773 Launches The Chicago Youth Comedy Festival

Stage 773, the producers of The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival and Chicago Women’s Funny Festival announced today they’ll be hosting a one-day festival geared towards Chicago’s youth on May 7th, 2017 from 9 am – 6 pm. The Chicago Youth Comedy Festival (YouCom) will focus on age appropriate classes led by Chicago comedy professionals, and is a first for the city according to Stage 773’s Creative Director, Brian Posen, “There’s nothing – at all – like this offered in the city, especially for young performers! Training in physical comedy is incredibly exciting, and we are thrilled to bring professional education and performances to students. They’ll walk out with a solid skill set and a new way of thinking about performance.”

YouCom will take place at Stage 773 and a full listing of teachers, workshops, and events can be found at http://stage773.com/ChicagoYouthComedyFestival.

Registration for YouCom is $125 for students (ages 12-17) and $65 for the chaperone. The cost includes all workshops and performances, lunch, snacks, a YouCom t-shirt, as well as two tickets for a complimentary return visit to The Inoffensive Theatre Series at Stage 773, a weekend series focused on family fun, comedy, entertainment and performances.
