The Yard Announces Playwrights, Cast and Creatives for SNACK BREAK

The Yard, a theater company that immerses students in the Chicago storefront theatre-making process, has announced the cast, creatives, and playwrights for their inaugural short play festival SNACK BREAK produced with the support of Victory Gardens Theater in their Richard Christiansen theater.

Featuring short plays by Lauren Gunderson, Philip Dawkins, Ike Holter, Isaac Gomez, Kristiana Rae Colon, Hansol Jung, and Brett Neveu, along with selections from the upcoming Chicago premiere of BLOOD AT THE ROOT by Dominique Morisseau (produced in alliance with Jackalope Theatre Company), the festival will be directed by Mechelle Moe, Joel Ewing, Dana Murphy, Will Kiley, and features Liv Shine, Brian Baren, Justin Burns, Jauhara Sanders, Tevion Lanier, Ireon Roach, Victor Musoni, Sheharrell Rhodes, Cleo Shine, Chisom Chima, Mechelle Moe, Johnathan Nieves, Danielle Chmielewski, and Jenna Makkawy.

The creative team includes Heather Gilbert (Lights), John Wilson & Andrew Swanson (Set), Aaron Stephenson (Sound), Cleo Shine (Video), Dina Klahn (Stage Manager).

SNACK BREAK: Savory Shorts, Palatable Playwrights runs JANUARY 12-14, 2016 at Victory Gardens Theater’s Richard Christiansen Theater, 2433 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago (Tickets are $20 (CPS Student Ticket $10) Tickets are available online at www.victorygardens.org. All proceeds go to helping support the second season of The Yard and its mission of young people making theater.
