Halcyon Theatre has announced the cast and design team for the Chicago premiere of Kari Bentley-Quinn’s “The Worst Mother in the World,” directed by Artistic Director Tony Adams.

New mom Nina has a healthy baby boy, a loving husband…and is struggling with terrifying nightmares and anxiety attacks. Her therapist, Bonnie, is trying to help Nina get to the bottom of her anxieties and discover how she can be a better mother to her infant son. In the meantime, Bonnie’s estranged daughter, Mary, arrives home with some life changing news. When Nina and Mary become friends, the lines between patient and family begin to blur.

The production features Susaan Jamshidi (Nina), Jenn Adams (Bonnie), Kianna Rose (Mary), and Maren Rosenberg (Masked Figure).

The creative team includes Tony Adams (scenic design), Simean “Sim” Carpenter (lighting design) Cody Von Ruden (costume design) Persephone Lawrence (props and puppet design) Amy Skrodzki (stage manager) and Arlicia McClain (assistant director).

“The Worst Mother in the World” runs March 24 – May 4 at Halcyon Theatre located in residence at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3255 W. Wilson Avenue, on Chicago’s north side. For more information visit
