MAC to Host ‘National Theatre Live’ Encores

The McAninch Arts Center (MAC) at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn will present encore broadcasts of National Theatre Live’s International Series starting in August. The raucous comedy ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS starring James Corden in his Tony Award-winning performance kicks of the series, followed in September by Hellen Mirren’s turn as Queen Elizabeth II in THE AUDIENCE.

Ivo van Hove’s searing production of A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE will also play in September—the Broadway staging garnered two Tonys this past June—Best Revival of a Play and Best Direction. November brings Benedict Cumberbatch and more Benedict Cumberbatch, with Danny Boyle’s production of FRANKENSTEIN—where Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternate between the roles of Victor Frankenstein and the creature—followed by HAMLET with Cumberbatch as the moody prince. In January, the MAC will present the 5 Tony Award-winning stage production of WAR HORSE, which was later adapted into the film of the same name by Stephen Spielberg.

Tickets are $20 and are on sale now in person at the box office or by phone (630.942.4000). Tickets may be purchased online beginning Sunday, Aug. 7. Seating is general admission and the house opens a half-hour prior to broadcast. Concessions and bar service will be available in the MAC lobby. For more information visit AtTheMAC.org.
