The Marriott Theatre, the Lincolnshire institution boasting the largest subscription base in the country, announced its 2017 calendar-year slate today.

The season will kick off in January with MAMMA MIA!—most recently seen at the Paramount in Aurora—helmed by Rachel Rockwell. April brings SHE LOVES ME, fresh off its Broadway revival, for the first time on the Marriott stage. Aaron Thielen will direct and choreograph.

That large subscription base often offers Marriott first choice at newly available Broadway titles, and for next year they have landed three regional premieres. Jason Robert Brown’s adaptation of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, directed by Nick Bowling, will open in June. The 2014 Broadway production was short lived, but is praised among musical theater aficionados for its Tony Award-winning score. HONEYMOON IN VEGAS—the 2015 adaptation of the film, also composed by Jason Robert Brown—will hit the Marriott stage in August, directed and choreographed by the same team that brought it to Broadway, Gary Griffin and Denis Jones. Alex Sanchez will get Chicago’s first crack at Disney’s NEWSIES to close out the season.

“Our subscribers will enjoy 5 shows they’ve never seen on our stage, and all 5 have played on Broadway within the past 3 years. This season is full of fresh, new shows that will surprise and delight even our longest-subscribing patrons,” says Executive Producer Terry James.

Season subscriptions are available now by calling 847-634-0200, or visit MarriottTheatre.com for more information. Single tickets will be available in early 2017.
