Remy Bumppo Theatre Company has announced that Ian Frank will take on the role of Associate Artistic Director, a first for the company.
“I am more than pleased to have Ian Frank assume his new title and also become the latest addition to our group of Associate Artists,” says Producing Artistic Director Nick Sandys. “For four seasons, Ian has been an invaluable colleague, forthright and diligent, and devoted to asking tough, mission-based questions that move this company forward. His role has exponentially expanded and his input has proven extremely valuable, not only at the staff level, but with artists, production staff, and our patrons. And, of course, he has also shown his artistic mettle for the company with his monstrously successful production of Frankenstein.”
As Associate Artistic Director, Frank will facilitate the day-to-day artistic components of the theatre. He will act as Remy Bumppo’s Company Manager on productions, oversee the company’s selection of classes for industry professionals and theatre lovers, and act as producer of the SPARK Reading Series.
“Working every day at this level is a privilege which I do not take lightly,” said Frank. “I’m so thrilled to take on this new role and continue the work we’ve done at Remy Bumppo over the last four seasons exploring, enriching, and expanding what think theatre means to Chicago not just today, but into the future.”
